AKOS BC-0002 - Introduction
2-methyl-3-indoleacetic acid(MIAA) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C11H11NO2. The following is a brief description of the nature, use, formulation and safety information of the MIAA:
Nature:
-Appearance: MIAA is a white crystalline solid.
-solubility: MIAA soluble in water, alcohol and acid, slightly soluble in ether.
-Melting Point: the melting point of MIAA is about 165-168 ℃.
Use:
-Drug research: MIAA is an important indole compound with a variety of biological activities. It is widely used in the field of pharmaceutical research, especially for studying anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory activities.
-Organic synthesis: MIAA can be used as a precursor compound for organic synthesis and is used as an intermediate or target compound for the synthesis of other organic molecules.
Method:
The preparation method of MIAA can be carried out through the following steps:
1. Dissolve indole in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO).
2. Formic acid and acid silver chloride were added to the DMSO solution.
3. Slowly add methylene iodide Dropwise to the solution at 0°C. After the reaction was completed, nitrogen was introduced.
4. Transfer the reactants to alkaline conditions, and add sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
5. The pure MIAA product was obtained by filtration.
Safety Information:
- MIAA should pay attention to protective measures during use to avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
-Wear protective gloves, glasses and protective clothing when using.
-Operate in a well-ventilated environment to avoid inhalation of dust.
-In case of accidental contact, immediately flush the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical help.
-Please store MIAA properly to avoid fire and high temperature.
-Detailed safety information and first aid measures can be found in the relevant literature or safety data sheets.
